When to call 911 instead of requesting care here

Know when an emergency department or 911 is the safer choice instead of waiting for a Direct Line Medical response.

  • Trouble breathing or shortness of breath at rest
  • Sudden weakness, numbness, drooping face, or trouble speaking
  • Severe or uncontrolled bleeding
  • Sudden severe headache, confusion, or fainting
  • Severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, or signs of dehydration
  • A serious injury, broken bone, or head injury
  • Thoughts of harming yourself or someone else
  • Pregnancy with bleeding, severe pain, or reduced fetal movement
  • An infant under three months with a fever

Other help

988: Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, call or text, 24 hours a day.

For a problem that cannot wait but is not an emergency, an urgent care centre or your nearest emergency department is the right choice.

What this site is for

Direct Line Medical is for non-urgent requests from patients in Ohio. A request here is not an appointment and does not guarantee that care will be provided. Response times are estimates only, and a provider may decide that your concern needs to be seen in person.
